Meet Rosie Harris, Caring Transitions Cincinnati West

Posted by on

This week we get to know Rosie Harris, General Manager of Caring Transitions Cincinnati West. Rosie & her team are making a significant impact on the senior community in the Cincinnati area.

Tell us about you…

I moved to Cincinnati in 2013 because my sister lived here with her husband, Brad. I have a wonderful husband, Rolando and we have 2 pretty awesome kids.  My daughter Maya is 3 years old and my son, Eli is 5 months. They keep me very busy but I wouldn’t have it any other way.  I grew up in a small town in Indiana. I love Cincinnati because it has so many things to do and the big city feel. Living & working on the west side reminds me of home.

What is your role at Caring Transitions?

I am the General Manager at Caring Transitions Cincinnati West. I am responsible for working directly with the clients from moment one. I do all of the consultations and client calls. I manage our CT team by each job. I also handle all of the marketing & networking for our company.

What is your favorite part of the job?

Helping people when they need it the most. Many of our clients tell us they are overwhelmed with the place they are in. I love being able to give them some relief and build a personal relationship with them throughout the entire process. Because we have been in this business for a while, I know the resources that are available and the steps to get to where our clients need to be. I can reassure them throughout the process that all of their needs can and will be met.

What kinds of clients have your worked with in the past?

We have had a range of clients in so many different situations.  Some clients are downsizing or moving to assisted living. Other clients are moving from one level of care in a senior community to the next. Surprisingly, there are not internal moving services provided in many senior communities.  Caring Transitions can come in and take care of the packing and unpacking. We have had clients moving south to Florida and they need our help organizing their estate here in Cincinnati.  Unfortunately we have also had several clients who have passed away, and we work directly with their families or estate attorneys. We have worked with clients who have lost a spouse and needed to move to a different location. Unfortunately, there are many senior adults that have lost connection with any family or friends. These “elder orphans” are in desperate need of direct assistance when it comes to transitioning to the next stage in life.

Some of our clients have been able to plan their next move months in advance and we are able to help them every step of the way in a gradual manner. Other clients find themselves in urgent situations that require quick action on their part. Caring Transitions is able to come in right away and help them with whatever services they need.

Tell us somethings CT has coming up in 2018….

We received, such a warm response in our first year in business. We are looking forward to growing our clientele. We plan on reaching out to our community and being a top resource for seniors & their families in the Cincinnati area.
